Turbulence in counterstreaming superfluids of light

Quantum fluid of light attracts increasing attention since it is a powerful and promising system to probe the many-body quantum phenomenon. Our group explores it by sending a laser to the nonlinear medium- Rubidium vapor cell. In this case, the effective repulsive interaction between photons will make the laser behave as a fluid flowing in the transverse plane. We implement an experiment to produce two fluids with different velocities propagating to each other to observe the superfluid turbulence and its instability.
