Departamento de Física, Universidad de Buenos Aires - metchevest@df.uba.arIt has been shown that the equations of diffusive and rotating magnetohydrodynamics in a spherical geometry allow these characteristics to be reproduced effectively, but the element that forces the system to this situation is not entirely agreed upon. In this work it is shown that if only the precession in the rotating motion of the Earth is considered as forcing, it is enough to satisfactorily reproduce the features mentioned as the generation and self-maintenance of the magnetic field, which also presents multiple reversals in the magnetic dipole moment.
