Quantitative microwave tomography is an imaging modality that has a broad range of applications. In medical applications, due to the large contrast of the dielectric properties of the different biological tissues, the inverse scattering problem is highly ill-posed and has to be solved using nonlinear iterative algorithms. In this case procedure of designing a medical scanner for joints and tissues by solving inverse problem and its hardware aspects is described.
