Higher rank quantum-classical correspondence

For a compact surface of constant negative curvature one defines the quantum spectrum and the classical Ruelle spectrum which satisfy a quantum-classical correspondence. Therefore, the Laplace spectrum is a model for a chaotic quantum spectrum. We present a generalization of this correspondence to compact quotients of higher rank symmetric spaces of noncompact type.
